Mies van der Rohe’s credo “less is more” has guided us emphatically over the years. His approach is reflected in the minimalist, new simplicity and purist Nordic design that once again marks both our living room and bathroom products in 2018. But new nuances can also be seen: “less is more” has become “less and more”. The clear design has been enlivened by prominent details, supplemented by useful features and highlighted by relaxed and sometimes powerful colors.

Color works
Clear shapes and colors create a relaxed atmosphere in the morning when time is of the essence – as in the new Brioso bathroom furniture range. The matt tones, like the silk matt clear Light Blue, combine with the warm wood surfaces to create a feel-good atmosphere for all. The monochrome design with the handles in tone-in-tone Light Blue or fashionable matt Beton gives an impression of space and clarity in the bathroom. The Brioso bathroom furniture range matches five ceramic ranges, and its narrow edges and fresh design offer plenty of design options at an attractive price.

Refined simplicity is often created through a combination of different surfaces, textures and colors, in which nuances can make a decisive difference. In the case of the XSquare furniture range, this is achieved either with powerful colors like silk matt Aubergine in combination, for example, with elegant Walnut, or understated luxurious décors like Linen and noble shades like matt Taupe. The elegant and striking chrome profile provides a distinctive frame. It continues the corner radius of the washbasin, creating harmony and at the same time a striking independence. Combined with cupboards, mirrors, and mirror-cabinet solutions from the range, also designed with the conspicuous chrome profile, unique washing areas for an elegantly contemporary furnishing style can be created. XSquare offers various combination options and perfectly matches four ceramic ranges.

Comfort right down to the smallest detail
It’s the details that define the difference in “less is more” – as here with the new XSquare range: Handle-free fronts with push-to-open technology subtly highlight the elegant and inspiring overall picture. A clever organizer system ensures that there is space for everything required in the bathroom. The new furniture program has a striking effect, setting clearly structured accents in the room. Everything in sight, within easy reach and cleared away in no time.

Duravit offers mirrors and mirror cabinets to coordinate perfectly with the XSquare furniture. The mirror surface features the new control panel: it permits contact-free control of the intensity, the main light (35 mm-wide lighting strips on the right and left), ambient lighting and mirror heating via a sensor.

Further, all mirrors have a new, convenient switching function for colored light: at a luminosity of more than 300 lux, the light color can be continuously adjusted from 2,700 (warm light) to 6,500 kelvin (cold light). Warm light creates a pleasant atmosphere, while cold light is best for applying makeup. The memory function ensures that the required light color and intensity don’t need to be reset when used frequently. Similarly, the functional organization of the inside of the mirror cabinets – with storage boxes, a board for accessories and a magnetic strip for small accessories, such as scissors or tweezers – is also new. In this way the bathroom remains a place of refined simplicity.
